Mr. Cecil J. Wilcox

March 23, 1948 - January 31, 2021

Mr. Cecil J. Wilcox, 72, of Statesville, died Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Born March 23, 1948 in Iredell County, he was a son of the late Charles Wilcox and Daisy Elliott Wilcox. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dina Gregory and brothers: Dale, Larry and Donnie Wilcox and a sister, Kathy Beckham. He served his country in the U. S. Army and was formerly employed at Fiber Industries. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, camping, riding 4 wheelers and going to the mountains. He loved his country and his grandkids. Survivors include his wife Janice Shrader Wilcox, a son, Eric Wilcox (Angela), a daughter, Jennifer Vaughan (Jamie) and brothers: Kenneth Wilcox (Tammy) and Tony Wilcox (Fern), along with sisters, Susan Miller (Jody), Margie Tyson, Geraldine Justice and Sylvia Albea. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Graveside services with military rites will be conducted at the National Cemetery in Salisbury at 11:00 AM on Monday, February 8, 2021 with Rev. Jamie Vaughan officiating. Memorials may be given to the D.A.V. Chapter #68, 218 Bakery St. Statesville, N.C. 28625 or to the American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231.
