William Anthony McCall, born July 30, 1970, in Dillon, South Carolina, peacefully passed away on February 26, 2026. He spent most of his life in Dillon, the place he proudly called home.
William was known for his beautiful smile and his unforgettable personality. He was a jokester — funny, witty, sometimes hardheaded — but above all else, he was protective and full of love for his family. If you knew him, you knew he could make you laugh, make you think, and remind you about God all in the same conversation.
He had a deep love for music, especially Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston. He enjoyed football, soul food, and the simple comforts in life. Fried fish and black-eyed peas were favorites, and Fridays were special — he’d always put in his “special request,” whether it was a Subway number seven sandwich or chicken and broccoli from the Chinese spot with a bottle of iced tea. Those little routines made him who he was.
William worked in restaurants for part of his life, often behind the scenes as a dishwasher or in the back of the house. He worked hard and carried himself with quiet strength.
He leaves behind his only daughter, Mia Alyssa McCall, who was his heart and pride. He also leaves behind his cousin, Ricky McCall, who he loved like a brother, his aunts Eutha Mae Cousar and Anna Thompson, his Aunt Angie Bennett, Uncle Master McCullum, and Uncle Kevin McCullum, and a host of cousins who loved him deeply.
William was preceded in death by his mother, Flora McCall, and his father, John C. McCullom. Today, we find comfort knowing he is resting with them.
He often said, “I love my family — and just know they love you too.” Those words will forever echo in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
His smile, his humor, and his protective spirit will never be forgotten.
Nicholson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements for the McCall family.
